Giving Back
Orlando Health team members are encouraged to volunteer alongside family, friends, and colleagues throughout the community in ways that may or may not utilize their professional skills.
Participation in any pro bono volunteer opportunity, whether listed or otherwise, does not fall within the scope of your employment with Orlando Health. As such, if participating in any pro bono activity participation will be at your own risk, including the need for any malpractice or other insurance coverage.
Family-Friendly Volunteering
Orlando Health team members have the opportunity to experience the work our local non-profit partners do by volunteering a few hours at a local non-profit’s facility. All Orlando Health team members are welcome to sign up for volunteer opportunities that include sorting donated school supplies at A Gift for Teaching, building homes with Habitat for Humanity, packing emergency food boxes at Second Harvest Food Bank, preparing meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House, and more. Long-Term Pro Bono Volunteering
Medical homes are local non-profit organizations that, through private and public funding, provide medical services free-of-charge to uninsured community members. Various medical homes have differing missions, affiliations, and locations. Orlando Health encourages you to familiarize yourself with the medical homes listed below and evaluate your ability and interest in volunteering our time as a clinical provider at one of these organizations.
Grace Medical Home

Mission: To be a medical home reflecting the heart of Christ by offering the highest level of health care to those in our community who need it most.
Needs: Clinical providers (especially nurses, phlebotomists, pharmacists, and specialists) who are willing to see patients at Grace Medical Home or in their own offices.

Shepherd’s Hope

Mission: Shepherd's Hope is a faith-based organization of volunteers that exists to provide access to health care for the uninsured.
Needs: Currently our greatest health center need is for physicians, ARNPs and PAs who are willing to see patients at a Shepherd’s Hope location. Health Care Professionals must have an active and clear license to practice in Florida. They work in a team with other health care professionals to provide basic, non-emergency medical care.

Short-Term Pro Bono Volunteering
Orlando Health frequently receives requests from local non-profit partners for clinical personnel to assist with various health-focused programming. Examples include educating children on heart-healthy life choices through American Heart Association’s Kids Cook Challenge, assisting with medical needs that arise when children with chronic illnesses attend summer camp at Camp Boggy Creek, and consulting with the Commission on Homelessness about the health impact of living without secure housing. World Telehealth Initiative (WTI)
Volunteer To Make a Difference
World Telehealth Initiative (WTI) envisions a world where all people have access to quality healthcare — partnering with volunteer physicians like you to make it a reality. As a member of WTI’s network of medical specialists, you donate your clinical expertise to bring quality healthcare to underserved communities. Through a global telehealth system, you can volunteer in short blocks of time right from your office or home to help provide quality medical care where and when it’s needed.
